I'd love to do it...but have been wait listed twice. It is maddeningly difficult to get into because it fills real fast, not to mention you have to provide proof of your swimming ability....
For those that don't have it: www.lin-mark.com Just checked the site...entry closed on 11/26. Can't tell if the one mile is still open.

1 MILE BAY CHALLENGE SWIM OPEN ENTRY PROCESS WILL BE ON-LINE MON. DECEMBER 10, 2007 -- NO LOTTERY, WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 450 SLOTS ARE FILLED.

i might register for it as well...will be approx. a month after my HIM in may but all should be well to just go out and have a good time.

Look at www.restonmasters.org
They list the other events in the area that many folks do... The Jim MacDonald 1 and 2 mile lake swim and the 7.5 Potomac River swim...both those are in May
