2007 White Lake HIM in NC

Anyone out there from NC or has done the White Lake Half? I am using this as my first HIM and wanted to know what people thought -- flat, fast, swim is short or long, etc... Times seem pretty fast.

I'll be there May 2007!

I have never done it but there is a possiblity I will be there. I remember from going there when I was a kid it is pretty flat. THe lake is super clear. LIke you said the results from years past are super fast.

It's a great first half. Fast, flat. Swim is like 3 feet deep but been cold for the past two years. Bike is fast with a bit of wind on the last few miles. Run is two loops with some tricky parts because it's run on road shoulders. Well supported and fun!

Definitely do White Lake. My only complaint was he last 10-15 miles of the bike were on some not so smooth road.

Yup, I'm a Tar Heel. I race a few races in NCTS but with weird summer schedules with Army and family I do most of my racing in NY or none at all... Hope to see you at White Lake!

I am definitely doing White Lake. I am primariy going to focus on the NCTS races -- sprints and Olympics. I figure putting my first attempt at a Half at the beginning of the season will give me strong base and then I can migrate to "speed" focus for the remainder of the summer....
