What is a good meal to have
1) The night before a sprint
2) The morning of the sprint
Now mind you, I will be staying at a hotel, so my options are limited, as there will be no stove.

The night before I like a small plae of spaghetti with very little sauce, a bagel and some fresh fruit. The morning of I usually eat a bagel and a banana about 1 1/2 hours before the start. What ever you do make certain you eat the same type of food in practice before trying to night before a race.

I have experimented with what to eat before races till it almost drove me nuts, trying to decide what the best foods are, and what time to eat.
Bottom line, just eat what you all ways have. If you have good workouts, the same will be true in your races too.
Remember those silly times when we have one of those really great, personal best workouts. And the night before we might have been drunk, and ate a whole bunch of greasy -no good food....but then performed well the next day.
Sometimes I think we think too much.

I can't tell you what to eat, but I can tell you what NOT to eat. Do not eat anything high in fiber before a big race. I ate a big bowl of Kashi crunch cereal (9g of fiber/serving) before a race this weekend. 10 minutes into the run I was miserable.

My pre-race meal is a toasted whole wheat bagel with crunchy peanut butter, and a banana. A glass of gatorade (about 8-10 oz). And a Red Bull for a little extra zip :)
For sure practice your pre-race meal. Say before your long run or bike.
Dinner the night before is always mostacholi with meat sauce. Ummmmm!
