Can anyone tell me if there are any areas on Long Island where triathletes go to train on their bikes. I don't really know of any areas where you can ride for long distances.

Jennrehm 12-21-2005, 10:59 AM Hello there- I don't know where you are on LI, but if you are anywhere you know the roads stink all over! Having said that: Northern Nassau try 25A from brookville to huntington - Rolling hills with a few sustained climbs East end - Montauk highway from ammaganset to montauk flat, windy, no lights! Head straight to the lighthouse..... Suffolk county - Try the area around Suffolk Community College and Stonybrook University OR William Floyd Parkway. Up for a century? Ride the LIE service road from Glen Cove Road to manorville then take Montauk Hwy to the Montauk Lighthouse. Jen  vBulletin v3.6.0, Copyright ©2000-2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
