hey...recently i fell off my bike in the middle of a race and broke my collarbone. as a result, its in a sling for 6 weeks, and im wodnering if anyone has any suggestions as to what i can do for training.

i am first and foremost a swimmer, so that has been hard to not be able to do. i cant run because it jars the bone and makes it worse. i tried a stationery bike but it is just as bad.

does anyone have any suggestions for either strength or aerobic exercises i can content my lower body with for the next 6 weeks?? theres only a certain number of lunges a girl can do before going crazy!

thanks a lot!!

I personally have never had that kind of injury but I had a friend that broke his collar bone in a bike wreck (showing off for his girlfriend... damn that testosterone). It was driving him nuts so his physical therapist told him to run in the water. He said that it was great for him with the exception that he felt stupid getting into the pool and just running. Water is a great way to resistance train with low impact.

I hope you recovery is speedy... I know for me, being out of commission is as frustrating as trying dance in a straight jacket.
