I have been training for about a year now and have not had to fight any sickness, until this morning. I have heard that a lot af people just push through a light cold and don't ease up on training unless it gets bad. I konw that I should listen to my body but if I took that as the rule of thumb I would never get off the couch.
My question is when do you sacrifice training to give your body time to heal? Currently it is just a runny nose and a sore throat.

Being that you wrote this on the 4th, your probably feeling better(hopefully). If you have a fever stop and rest. But, a little sniffle is different. I wouldn't hit it hard, but still do something. I've read that working out will help shorten a cold. And I do believe that, just don't go doing any century rides or 10k's.
Hope You Feel Better

having just experienced this dilema, i opted for the advice of just laying off the training for a bit. that sore throat of mine was bad tho, but my body felt fine. i'm about 98% right now, just a lingering cough, but with the Big Sur Marathon coming up, it's actually forcing me into a tapering mode which isn't bad. :)
anyone else doing the Big Sur? this is my first one.
