So, I am looking to tackle a triatholon in 2004. Any advice, help, guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am completely entry level, although I do mountain bike on occasion. I am completely clueless in regard to any equipment or training that is need. So, I hope this post is read and replied to.
Regards,
Jason

Hey trirookie. welcome to the site. It's hard to give someone overall general advice on training without knowing any specifics. I would look through some of the other posts here as many discuss choosing a bike, and what others have done to start training. It can be different for everyone and its best to get as much info as possible and start slowly.
There are also a bunch of helpful articles in the articles section that can give you some good info.

good luck and post more questions and your progress on the boards.

Besides reviewing all the articles, another really good idea is to join either a triathlon club or masters swim club. If you can swim 500 yards/meters in around 12:00 minutes or faster, you'll be ok. The other members will be a fountain of information for a newbie. Most people can fake it through the bike and run but swimming is the most technical. Get a good coach. :-)
