I ran 3 marathons so now I guess next is a triathlon!
I am looking for simple, free training plans

Also, browse Amazon.com for books on triathlon. You can find some helpful books for cheap. One that I can suggest is Going Long. Even if you don't plan on doing any Ironman's, it is still a good resource in general regarding the sport.

I live in Chicago also. There are some training plans at trinewbies.com and beginnertriathlete.com. Do you know which triathlon you want to train for?

I've found some basic Training Logs on website EnduranceCoach.com ...
They're very practical, in .doc or .xls-format, so you can easily make some personal changes!
