HED - Customer Service

I have a set of HED H3 (Carbon fiber tri-spoke) wheels. I use these wheels everyday for training and racing and they are 6-7 seasons old now.
Couple weeks back I did a recon ride on the Ironman Racine 70.3 course and recall hearing a cracking sound when hitting a large pothole pretty hard. Note that the bike course for Racine is quite bumpy. However, everything seemed fine at the time and finished the ride no issues and promptly forgot about the pothole. Continued training on them and then raced them at Racine this past weekend.
Dropped the bike off at the LBS for a couple adjustments this past Tuesday afternoon. They did the minor work and discovered that my front wheel was cracked. Apparently hitting that pothole so hard had caused the rim to V in which in turn pushed out the carbon and caused it to crack.
Called HED told them what occurred. They were very helpful and they opened up a return authorization and set me up with a new wheel with a very nice discount as a part of their lifetime crash replacement. I shipped my wheel to them over-night on Tuesday and had my new wheel Thursday night. They even over-nighted it back to me! Rode it this morning. :)
Just nice when a company makes a great product, stands behind it and offers great customer service.
