Quick feedback on new Wetusit

Today I stumbled upon a 2xu E-1 at a local (and highly renowned) cycle shop. Being that I am currently in the market for one, and this one carried a mark down of 50%, I tried it on and decided to pull the trigger on the spot. Before I remove the tags and get wet, I was hoping for a little feedback...

- Is anyone familiar with the 2xu E-1? If so, what thoughts on it?

- The price was marked down to $250 from $499. Google indicates a higher than average list price, but $250 seems to be on the lower end of the spectrum. For those of you who know this wetsuit, is $250 a decent price, or could I do better for comparable quality? It has been over 4 years since I last bought a triatlon wetsuit, so I'm a bit out of the loop.

- Research also shows that the E-1 has been around since circa '09. I am confident this suit has not been on a rack for three years, but should I be concerned about the 'datedness" of this suit? I seem to remember hearing that the integrity of neoprene has a bit of a shelf life.

Many thanks for your thoughts.

If the suit was fast 3+ years ago, it will still be fast. My main concern would be with the seams as you kind of alluded to. I had a kind of similar experience with my wife's wetsuit. See below:

I would say that it all boils down to if the bike shop will stand behind the product. Inside Out Sports(in my case) honored a one year warranty(and then some) even when the manufacturer wouldn't. They repaired seams that were separating after only a couple of uses.

My .02....$250 is a pretty good deal for a wetsuit. If the seams are going to be a problem, then you'll likely know within a year. If the local bike shops stands behind a 1 year warranty, you're good to go.
