I was a bit concerned about going to the v1.0 of a race. Turns out there was no need for concern, the event was fantastic.
Here's my report. (my race was not exactly fantastic, but it was fun).

Here is a link to some pictures we took. I'll post more later.

Great race report, video and photos. Have you done Muskoka? Just wondering how it compares to Tremblant.
I haven't done Muskoka. I'm
I haven't done Muskoka. I'm familiar with Timberman and Mooseman courses.
People were loving this place tho. The venue, the course, the organization...
The race directors were on another forum following threads about the race. They took note of many of the comments in hopes of making improvements for the Full Iron in August. I have friends that are racing both. I'll be curious to hear what suggestions fell into place.
Are you looking to compare difficulty of the courses? A friend of mine mapped out the entire bike with his power numbers.

People with power meters seem to get more out of this than those without. (I'm without)
Does this help?

I have never done an HIM before and when I do it will probably be either muskoka or tremblant. I've heard muskoka isn't a great choice for a first because the course is hilly. I wasn't sure if Tremblant was or not. I don't have a power meter, so I wasn't sure if there is a difference between the two that way. Tremblant is a great spot though so I'm not surprized people like it.
Nice RR and great Photo's
Nice RR and great Photo's BTW. Looks like a great venue. Question: What gearing did you use? Compact crank? 11-23 on the back or maybe 12-27? Looking forward to checking this place out in a little over a month.
Compact crank. 12-26. (my
Compact crank. 12-26. (my extra weight is killing me, on a strict diet now because of this race result)
One thing I will say about the course. None of the climbs were intimidating. There are hills at Mooseman and Timberman that get into my head a bit. At Mont Tremblant I felt that the way back in on 117 was the workhorse climb, but it's manageable. (of course we had no wind).
The last out and back to Lac Superieur were all short efforts. Very manageable.
I'll admit I looked into picking up an 11-28. I was going to have to do a bit of research to make sure my rear derailleur was going to handle the 28 before I purchased it. I just ran out of time.
