commute to work

I need to brag to my trifuel friends that I finally was able to ride my bike to work and back. I have been playing it down to my coworkers because I want them to think my job is priority 1, not training. Even when my running group said something about it, I gave credit to one of them for making the trip over a year before I did. My modesty is killing me. :-)

Mon, Tues, and Wed I rode one way and drove the other, then took Thurs off and Friday I finally made it both ways. 110 miles round trip. 275 miles so far this week, and I still have the weekend.

Now I feel like a hippy bike snob for bragging... but it had to be done.

When you biked one way, what did you do with your car?

That's a serious commute. I used to do 65 mi/day 2-3 days per week back and forth and would just carry my bike up to the office and set it against the wall. It certainly helped that even though I was a consultant working on site and the client was paying mileage, the guy I worked for was big into cycling and would actually meet me some days on my way in and ride together the final 7-8 miles.

As for what to do with the car, you just drive in with the bike one day, ride home that evening - leaving the car in the parking lot - then ride back into work the next morning and drive home that evening.

Nice Job! I have a 36 mile round trip commute. I've done it several times, but I just can't commit to it with all the rush hour traffic. Keep it up and be safe out there.

I have been toying with this type of thing as well, just need to commit to the commute.

also, the 5pm daily showers are going to make this difficult.
