Swim Bike Mom: Ironman Miami 70.3 Race Report

Really, I believe anything is possible. After going from the couch to a 70.3 in just over a year, I KNOW it is. I am a wife, working mother and newbie triathlete. Triathlon has changed my life. I am so thankful.

Here's my Ironman 70.3 Race Report

".....I was plagued with a headcold which started on the drive down to Miami on Thursday. The night before the race, I even downed a ton of NyQuil.... Regardless, I sniffled, coughed, tossed and turned like crazy all night....at 4:20 on race morning, I found myself just plain dumbstruck.....I knew what was about to happen. I suspected what was about to happen. I had no idea what was coming...."

Nice video. Did you take up triathlons before or after you had the baby?

After the kids... I started training when our youngest was almost 2. :)

crossing the line with a smile = priceless!

congratulations!

Congrats and nice Race Report! And welcome to Trifuel.

Swim, Bike, Mum,

What a great race report and welcome to Trifuel. You will always get poor marshals, markers etc that are not triathletes and don't appreciate the effort that you are putting in, I wouldn't worry about it just use it to make you stronger.

Look forward to more and faster race reports.

Rob

Simply an awesome accomplishment. I got a little misty eyed as I could imagine every moment.

You are an inspiration for all. Keep up the good work!

Nicely Done! Congrats and keep it up, we may be reading a full distance RR one of these days....

Terrific race report…much more engaging than typical ones, in part because it was a new experience for you, in part because you have a very good ear for language. I did a half-Ironman at the end of my first tri season just to see what it was like; like you, I am overweight and wasn’t concerned with my time, but found the experience very satisfying.

As for the morbidly obese douchebags who gave you a hard time at Mile 12 of the run: Don’t worry, they’re only trying to project their considerable self-loathing onto you, because they’d never step up to try something as physically demanding.

Congratulations to you and “the Expert.”

Wonderful. Well done.
And who cares about times - you've already got me beat: most every photo of you shows your smile shining through loud and clear, whereas I invariably look like I am passing a kidney stone. I don't know how you & Chrissie Wellington do it, but it's a gift.

Welcome to Trifuel!

Thank you guys.... and Snail_Maile... I'll take me and Chrissie Wellington in the same sentence.. any day :)

truly awesome RR there SwimBikeMom.

Like Snailmale said "Who cares about times".

As to the other dueschebags calling you out. What a bunch of idiots. Good for you changing your life, setting, and accomplishing such high goals.

Awesome video! :)
