Sure did. I think that was Chris Spealer, whose just 5'5" 145, so if he's capable of doing that with 10 more lbs., he's done a bodyweight overhead pistol. Apparently, he can squat 375, deadlift 420, snatch 210, do 106 consecutive pullups, and run a 19:20 5k.
For those wondering about the degree to which CrossFit's emphasis on strength and anaerobic training slows one down over distance, there's no denying it does a bit. A look at the reported 5k times for the 2011 finalists (e.g. the best in the game) shows the middle of their bell curve in the 19-21 range. The best times are in the low-18's, and the slower guys are at 22-24. Then again, the upside's pretty sweet.
Ive been doing crossfit since march and its no joke. There are times after a 20 minute work out where i feel like i just ran 10 miles. The competitors are insanely fit. A lot of the smaller guys end up lifting well over their body weight in the events. Hell the women are stronger than most of the triathletes I know.
DId you see the (can't
DId you see the (can't remember his name) the guy do the one-leg squat with 135lbs held straight over his head? That is sick balance and strength.
