planned races for the rest of the year?

What big races do you guys/ladies have planned for the rest of the year?
Besides a few 10K's and 5k's, I'm looking at the full distance ChesapeakeMan triathlon to get my first iron distance race done so I can start learning about myself for IMLouisville next year, after ChessieMan I have the JFK50 mile run. I think I'm most excited for the JFK run simply because my family can pace for me and really be apart of the run. They literally get to see the blood, sweat and tears.
That will hopefully get me ready for the 2012 20in24 race (hopefully getting to 100 miles) followed by IronMan Louisville. Thats if that 2012 schedule stays in tact. A few of you are doing a good job at convincing me to change 2012 up a bit.

Not a lot of races planned for this year, but some events:

August 20: Swim across Crater Lake (10k) with my Master's group
September 2: Trail run around Waldo Lake (approximately marathon distance) at 7,000' elevation with some friends
September 18: Iron Girl sprint triathlon

2012: IM CdA! Plus some tune-up races before that, I don't know which ones yet.

Will be jumping in a few events this fall...nothing big planned. Still building my running after surgery so probably no Ultras till spring. A 24 hour charity ride, a double century in the next month. I haven't done anything "short" in years so I'm looking forward to maybe a sprint and a few Du's.
Brent...Done JFK before? If not, I'm a 10 time finisher if you need to chat about it...PM me.

I have a sprint in a couple of weeks on my birthday. Looking forward to that...
An Olympic in September and another sprint in October.
Finishing up the tri season with IMFL in November (my first).

After that, if I am up to it, I may do either the Jax Bank marathon again in December or the 50K in Tallahassee. Not sure which one.

Steel man Oly a week from Sunday.
QuakerMan hybrid Oly in early September.
Chesapeakeman in late September.

I am feeling really good on the bike. My run has been slowing but that is ok. Most importantly, I am enjoying the training. Looking forward to another year of hopeful PR's.

Seems like i'm done with tris for the season, but still have
San Francisco Marathon
Grand Rapids Marathon
and a bunch of small local races

Well my plans were truly binned early in the year, but on the road to recovery..there is an Oly in Cassis that I like the look of. Trying to be sensible to see if I can make it. Probably a half marathon somewhere along the way.

I did the warrior dash last weekend.
Lots of fun, but there are 101 ways to hurt yourself and put you out for the rest of the season.

August 6 - sprint tri
August 21 - Oly tri
Possible HIM in September?
October 10 - 10mile run

September 18 - local sprint tri
September 24 - NCTS sprint tri
October 1 - NCTS olympic tri
October 29 - Beach-to-Battleship Half (my first)

Gonna be spending a lot more time in the saddle over the next 3 months.

No more tris this season for me after last weekend's sprint. I'm looking to get in some longer group rides and mostly just gearing up for my first marathon - the Scotiabank Waterfront - in Toronto in October.
All of my focus will now be to set myself up for a successful (ie. injury-free) IMMT in 2012.
So far all systems are a 'go'!

Local sprint next weekend
Beach to Battleship half in October (my first)
Atlanta Thanksgiving Day half marathon

That's all that's currently on the calendar. Will probably try to throw in an Oly in Sept/early Oct.

Seems like a race that is set up for you to PR in. The swim goes with the current and everything else is flat, protected by wind and late in the year so not much heat. Still cant take it lightly and must train properly.
Anton, i havent done JFK before, however, my brother ran in last year and I got pace with him for a good 13 miles. Went and bought some gaiters as they seem to be a must. I've done a little trail running, still very nervous for it, luckily it's only for 15 miles of the course.
Seems like a few people are doing B2B this year. I have a training partner doing the half this year as well.

Honestly, I'm feeling pretty burned out on racing right now, it's been such a long season. I think it's the need to juggle three sports that is overwhelming me. Anywho, still tons left to do...

August 7th - New York Olympic Triathlon
August 28th - TOBAY sprint tri
September 11th - Toughman Halfiron distance
then a long break until
November 3rd - New York Marathon
November 20th - Philly Marathon

Happy training. See you there. :)
