Almost Spring! (pix)

It's almost Spring in the Okanagan - at least we optimists think so. Look, here's evidence:

This was yesterday at the swim start of our local triathlon, which will be June 19, this year. I'm not about to jump in there for a swim just yet, but maybe in a month or two.

Give me hope. Show me some pix of Near-Spring wherever you are?

PoC

reminds me I need to book my flight

beautiful!:O)

We had spring back in January. Bring on winter!

While not typical, I had a bluebird powder day last week in OR.

That powder is sick, ac!
But I want to get back on my bike.

Loved the picture.
Let's see some more pix people!

Horsetooth Falls, frozen in time. I make a point to go the falls everytime i'm at this park (4x p/week). It is fun watch it change on a daily basis, this was my favorite one yet! Probably from 2 weeks ago.

on the trail... unfortunately the poor quality means you cant see snow covered longs peak and the mummy range. this picture was 10x better in real life!

looking southwest from fort collins at dusk. amazing colors out here! those in the know will be able to make out mt. evans, I could also see the faint outline of pikes peak, almost 175 miles away.

Yo chek, great job! Well worth persisting in posting the pix.
Thanks for posting.
Those are excellent.
I like what I see - snow free hiking trails, clear skies, running water - bliss.
(I'm imagining it as running water! Amazing photo really.)
You are wise to live where you do.

PoC

let me be more clear, the falls are actually frozen. like, not frozen by the camera, but a gigantic icicle!

i am really lucky to live here PoC, i can't even begin to explain the connection I feel to those mountains.

Yeah, I get it. Amazing phenomenon. I was imagining it as running but I see that it is frozen. Is it famous in those parts?
Where is this exactly?

okay, never mind, I google-mapped it.
100 kms north of Denver.
I'd love to see this in person.

This is nr. Vaseau lake on the IMC bike route this week looking north.
The race proceeds southerly at this point so we are looking back up the course in this photo.

No snow in the south end of the valley.
In summertime Vaseau lake looks like this:

PoC- (i'm sorry for sounding like a spoiled nature brat)... Horsetooth is popular because it's 1.5 miles from the parking lot, unfortunately it only flows after rain or snow. Usually there is just a small trickle, and there is a neat pond at it's base. That picture was taken when an 8 inch snow day was followed by a 60 degree day and a below freezing night. I could hear water flowing behind the frozen part!

IMC looks amazing, I'm surprised there is no snow though! I think we both have it pretty good when it comes to our "backyards"

a surprisingly cold little stormfront came through Southern California last week. It is warming up now but it brought snow and ice for a weekend into Los Angeles.

You guys are all lucky bastards. I have to go an hour west just to get to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I wouldn't post anything on the way there AND DEFINATELY that is too far to just randomly run. :(

Beautiful pics.

today was amazing! we got just enough frozen stuff to coat the trees, but the trails were clear!
