post workout nutrition

Hey, im wondering what are some good examples of somthing to eat after a workout that last roughly an hour and how long after my workout should i eat, and when should my next balanced meal be?

That is a really loaded question there man. A lot really depends on what you are working towards, meaning gaining weight, loosing weight, or maintaining?

To get the most benefits nutrition should be consumed within 2 hours of your workout. You'll get varrying answers as to what you typically should eat for this meal, but a balanced meal works best that is already in sync with your current nutrition plan. So if you current nutrition calls for 50% carbs, 20% protein, 20% fat, then your post workout meal should be along those lines as well.

For example my nutrition currently calls for the above ratio, so I eat the following after a morning workout- Potatoe, egg, & cheese taco (400 cals), bananna (150 cals), 8oz of milk and 1 scoop of protein powder. All about 700-750 cals. then my next balanced meal about 3 hours later.

fueling after an hour workout? Do whatever you want. input chocolate milk in the search bar and you'll get plenty of advice about what to drink after a workout, but it's not like you have to worry about refueling your depleted glycogen stores after an hour workout. Eat or drink something light after your workout if you're hungry, then eat when you need to eat.

I usually eat a bowl of oatmeal with milk and half a banana. Or whole wheat toast with cream cheese and a cup of tea.

Experiment of one:
I've done R-4 for some years. Recoverite and other stuff like that. Went to chocolate milk several years back. Bingo! Love the taste. Goes down easy. Stay's down. Recovery fuels should best be consumed in the first 30 minutes. It may vary for you. I need a few minutes before I can down anything and two hours is way too long for me....ind what works for you.
