What I'LL be doing for the next six weeks! Hopefully I'll be be able to salvage some sort of fall season...http://antonspath.blogspot.com
Sorry to hear it Anton. I hope the surgery goes well. I'm sure you will use the time off to recharge your batteries and focus on the many other things in life.
Oooh, sorry to hear it. Recovery and rest are the two hardest things to do. Thinking good thoughts for your surgery, recovery, and that you'll be back stronger than ever.
wow!Sorry! Good luck with the surgery and the recovery! You will be back better then ever!:O)
Good luck, Anton!
Hope it goes well - best to get it taken care of.
sorry to hear the news..
crutches... ugh... i am a disaster on those.. my husband ended up just carrying me around (before we were married) for the few days i had to use them as he couldn't stand to see me use them i was so pathetic on them....
that was from knee surgery years ago...
Good Luck Anton, think positive and you will be up and running before you know it
Bummer. Best wishes for a successful surgery and quick recovery.
In the spirit of lemons to lemonade: what a great time to focus on your core! I am always putting that crap off for other workouts. You could come out looking like UFTriGator!
As always, you seem to have just the right attitude. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
sounds like a good decision and it only took a 10k, half mary & full mary to get there! ;)
you'll be upright before you know it; skippy will see that you will
giro started Saturday (nice win this morning! [no spoiler])
ToC starts next week
quick healing anton!
A friend put it in perspective for me the other day: if we weren't injured, we wouldn't be serious athletes.
All the best for you on Weds., Anton. You're already halfway healed with your positive attitude.
(Had to laugh at your reference to only now having time to learn about your HR monitor - I could totally relate!)
Yeesh. Sorry about the injury and best of luck with the sawbones. Hit the rest and recovery hard this summer.
sending healing vibes your way, Anton! You have one of the best attitudes I have ever encountered, and I am sure it will serve you well in your recovery
You are yet another member of this site that baffles me with your positive attitude. Don't lose touch because you're not training. We need your voice on trifuel. Rest up buddy.
That sucks. No you can do P90X and Crossfit.
Races and friends will both wait for your return no matter how long you need off. Good luck figuring out the HR and iPod.
I will be sending positive vibes your way this week for a flawless surgery and a speedy recovery!
godspeed on the recover Anton - it's homeboys like you that make me think I can keep this whole thing up for as long as I want!
Bummer -- I can totally relate. Hope all goes well!
Break out the hand cycle.
Sorry Anton, that is just the pits.
Ohh bummer Anton....wishing you a healthy, speedy, and complete recovery!!!

Damn! That's a great idea!
Did pick up some stretch cords for swim training...found some exercises I can do with the kettle bells while sitting down and without stressing the foot. Can keep up with core without stressing the foot...
This will be interesting!
Thanks guys for your kind words...
The only REAL bummer about this is that my custom made bike will be ready to two weeks...so I'll get to stare at it for another four at least!
Netflix here I come!
Well I guess you'll miss a training trip(maybe) up to Lake Placid.
If you change your mind I'll bring some duct tape for your ankle.

Yup! Follow up exam is Wednesday and I'll know then but the doctor has already told me after the bandages come off he'll cast me till the last week of June. It's a non-load bearing injury so I can't even drive.
Over on my blog there's a pic of the incision from surgery...took it yesterday between cast changes.
three weeks in this, then, hopefully walking boot and PT.
Sounds like fun! ;-P
I LOVE the m-dot on the cast :)
I have that same scar, position, length...mine's a little older, though...and on the other foot...other than that it's just the same...except that it was for peroneal tendonitis/synovitis...so kinda the same except not really :)
updates are fun to read, thx for keeping us posted
hope you're healing fast!
wow - sounds like surgery went well, hope the healing process is quick and successful !
I finally figured out a GREAT use for compression socks!
I'm wearing one under my walking cast!
Walked just a bit too much on the leg yesterday and was sore and cramping by bed time!
Today, compression sock (CVS $19.95 knee high) and it feels great on the leg...
This has been quite the learning experience...
Some new stuff on the blog.
PT starts Monday...hopefully I'll get the Ok for swimming. (never thought I'd say that!)
