Dear friends !
I am not a bike expert, that's why I am looking for advice here:
I own three bikes: a mountain bike, a Scott Plasma 10 (which I use for long distance triathlons) and a road bike (Dynamics, it's a German brand). I would like to get a set of new wheels for this road bike, which I use in Olympic distance and Sprint triathlons.
I usually train on a home trainer since I cannot ride on the streets near my house because of heavy traffic. Once or twice a month I do a 50 to 100 mile ride on a Sunday because there is less traffic.
So most of my bike training is done in my house. I know this is not ideal, but what can I do ? I tell you this so that you know that I will need the wheels mainly for races (about one a month) and for a couple of training rides during the year.
I cannot spend a fortune on them, but I want good quality. I am a 48 - year old age grouper.
What can you recommend ?
Thanks in advance for your help, best regards

Before anyone can reccomend wheels. Can you tell us what your budget is? Type of terrain these races are going to be (hilly, pancake flat)?
Side note why are you not using you Scott plasma 10 for all your races the geometry is not the same as your rode bike and it would help just as much in those shorter races. Being aero with crappy wheels is always faster than. Having deep dish wheels and sitting up.
In an older post I saw the best advice and that was to rent wheels for each race because your always getting the best of the best wheels. If your going to go the route of buying wheels and don't want to spend a lot renn disc and renn deep dish front or planet x are quite inexpensive and are big In Europe.

Triathlete954: thanks for your post: I do not use my Scott because it has got long aero bars and they are not allowed in olympic and sprint distance events. It is not possible to change them.
I race mostly on rather flat terrain, and my budget is around 1.000 bucks.
Keep the posts coming

sorry, but you train on a trainer year-round? Oh my! You need to move to Canada! We only use our trainers part of the year. In fact, I think I could still be outdoors here right now with the winter we are having!
