LA Road Rage Trial
it should be interesting to see how this goes
'Nothing to it, but to do it!'
Yeah, not really seeing the logic to "i didn't feel safe being behind the bikers, so I sped around them and then slammed on my brakes...for safety." This guy has a documented history of similar behavior as well. Hopefully a jury can see through his BS, but I'm skeptical that the majority of a sample of 12 from the LA population will have any shred of pro-bike.

All it takes is one cyclist in the group and that should help ;-)
'Nothing to it, but to do it!'
A coworker once asked if I thought cyclist should be required to carry insurance, as motorist are required by law. Her husband was once hit by a cyclist while waiting at a stoplight. The guy on the bike said he was looking away and didn't see traffic stopped. She even said that his car was not damaged, but she thought that if motorist are required to get insurance, then cyclist should be also. Somehow she wasn't connecting the dots that cars and trucks can easily cause tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage to other vehicles. In addition to that, it's pretty easy to send someone to a hospital or morgue with a car. If a careless cyclist ever killed a driver or caused $30,000 worth of damage to his vehicle, it would be the first.
It's not that cyclist are a better breed of people, we just have to be more careful in order to survive. People that do not ride have a hard time making that connection I think.
