Need Goggle Recommendation

I am not having much luck with goggles.

I have used the seal xp , kaiman and now I am using the speedo Vanquisher.

Primary problem is fogging up and taking in water. I even bought the TYR anti fog spray. Complete waste of money. I double check the strap and make sure they are very snug and tight.

Anyone have any strong recommendations.

Thanks

try baby shampoo to stop the fogging but the longer you can go without touching the inside i think the better. i rinse mine after every swim. i only use speedo opal - either tinted or clear depending on what/where i am.

the journey is the reward

Try this.

Before you begin you next swim, spit in each goggle lens and spread it around with your thumb. Make sure you get it spread around really well to make a little coat of goober in there. Then rinse'm out lightly.

I do this every time I swim and my gogs don't fog at all.

for what it's worth these are what I use:

I love my Sable goggles -- http://www.sablewateroptics.com/. Plus a great (and true for these goggles) slogan: Swear by your goggles, not at them!

Kylie had recommended the Sables to me.... and they were one of the best equipment investments.

like jhudalla, I spit. I've never had a fogging problem. I like Lane 4 goggles and wore them for years even though now I'm wearing a seal mask and love that too.

I have never had a problem with the Speedo Vanquishers, but I know a lot of my friends like the Swedish goggles.

Regarding fit: You have to find what works for you ... don't just try what works for someone else. If they fit right, they don't need to be very tight, they'll almost stay on without a strap. Go to your local shops and try them all on. Don't use the strap when trying them on ... just push the goggle into your eye socket lightly. The ones that fit right will grab onto you like a suction cup.

Speedo Swedish goggles are by far the way to go. I have worn them for years with no complaints.

as far as the fogging goes, the posts about baby shampoo or spit goobs smeared on the inside right before you race are both great examples. the rinsing step is the most important part though, otherwise if you spring a leak you are going to be in a much worse position than you were before, have you ever tried to lap swim in a bubble bath? lol

I used malmsten swedish goggles during years and years in swimming competitions. I think it doesn't have any problem and are very cheap here in europe (less than 8 euros)
