Hi everyone. I just completed the longer event at Tinley. Had an outstanding race and an outstanding weekend. They do odd distances at Tinley. I did the 1.5 mile swim/49 mile bike and the 9 mile run. I have done several sprints and some olympic, but this is the first long that I completed. I went in with an excellent fuel and food intake plan and followed it to the letter. I have found that I do better in cooler weather and the weather was just perfect. I do not want to mention Tinley in public; because at this time fairly small number of participants. Not alot of bells and whistles. No exposition. I would strongly recommend people put this on their to do list. Camping right at the start and I am not sure how far people went; but quite a few people stayed in local hotels also. 1.5 mile swim was the longest of my career so far.
Great job and congrats on
Great job and congrats on bagging that distance! I will try and keep it a secret that it's a good race ;) Where is it?

Outside San Luis Obispo in a park called Lake Lopez. It is a beautiful area. With a triathlon I showed up get my stuff and rest. I really want to explore the park more. It has a store and a restaurant at the boat dock. They have about five events and they have a kid triathlon and all the kids looked like they were having a great time. It is a great reminder of why we do these triathlons.
