I got sick earlier in the week with a sinus infection which went into my lungs. I opted not to start the HIM. However the race organizers were kind. In exchange for a deferred entry to next year, I gave them 4+ hours of volunteer time during the HIM.

My wife did the sprint amidst terrential downpouring rain. Lots of standing water. She did awesome, and she loved running through all the puddles, just like a little kid.

Montauk is beautiful, and the race organizers are great folks. If you are in the Northeast, I would check out this event.
