In case any of you Northeast based trifuelers care to know, the marathon and 1/2 are completely sold out. Bummer. I went on to register and was denied. What a change a few years makes. In 1999 there were 2000 runners. 5 years ago I registered the night before and still received a discount. Now, there are 18,000 runners combined for the two distances. Good for Philly, but bad for people like me who wait until after tri season to commit to a fall marathon. Looks like Harrisburg is the only alternative in November.

That's a ton of people. I did my first 1/2 marathon yesterday and I thought a couple thousand people was a lot...that almost sounds like it would be more hassle than fun.

Just keep spinning....spinning, spinning....uh, do I know you?

Why wait to register? I always have a race or 2 planned. This year I am unable to do Disney in Jan due to my knee surgery, but that is and exception to the rule. I like having an off season race to look forward to!

Two years ago I had zero motivation after the IM. I told myself I would wait a week or two and decide. I wasn't sure if my body and mind would be up to it. Philly is close and pre-registering had never been a problem before. Which is pretty much the reason I posted. To give others a heads up to initiate plan B if needed.

Usually just being registered is enough to motivate me.

I saw that. Contemplated about doing Philly after the Marine Corps Marathon but a sold out status shut down that thought.

the AC marathon has been changed to 11/15

I did the half mary way back in 97 but liked it. flat race on the boardwalk. it is a smaller race and they have organization issues but hope they have been sorted out.
