Timberman Accomodations

I am strongly considering doing Timberman 70.3 next year but have never been up to the area. I was looking for some suggestions on places to stay. It will most likely be me, my wife, and our son, who will then be about 17 months old. Any suggestions are appreciated. We are thinking about making a vacation out of it. If you could let me know how much you spent on your stay that would be great. We are trying to budget now.

I believe it is the Lake Winniepasake(sp) area which has TONS of seasonal rentals. You will find all price ranges and can rent houses to hotels and cottages. It is a huge lake with a very "touristy" area for the summer months.

Lake Winnipesauke is a nice spot for a family vacation. The website will have information on the hotel accommodations in the area, they usually have a discounted rate, If you are looking for more info you might want to try and email the race director, I think he lives up there and runs a business in the area, There is also a forum where you may be able to pick up some info, look on the bottom of the timberman website you will see a link to the forums. I’ve been up there the last two years and stayed at the holiday inn, in concord, which is about a ½ hour away. It was nice and reasonably priced. I only stayed there because it was a 1 night stay, and if you are looking to make a vacation out of it, then you probably want to stay near or on the lake(if you can afford it). You still have some time to research, but I would say plan a good 6-8 months in advance, don’t wait too long. Good luck, it’s a great race.

sorry to hijack this thread, but does anyone know how quickly timberman sells out?

The race director's forum is the perfect place for your question. He is very likely to answer your question himself. Also there are many local/regional people on there that could help out.

I think the 70.3 sold out in January last year.

FYI: keith jordan is the race director.

i'm going to chime in -- I live up in NH -- have done Timberman a bunch of times -- as well as Keith's other races up here (mooseman in early june). This is a fantastic race -- incredibly well run -- and it won't sell out too quickly. In terms of where to stay -- go to timbermantri.com and you will eventually find a bunch of accomodation info. Keith puts on a great event -- with plenty of stuff for kids to do -- though yours might be a wittle too young. The Lakes region is definitely crowded this time of year since it's such a great place to be -- okay I will stop before I start sounding like an infomercial.

I previously posted that Timberman sold out in January last year.
I just read that 2010 is half way filled in the first week.

who is in for timberman 2010?

I'm sure it's no surprise that I'm already signed up.

I decided to make the plunge as well. Will be my first 70.3. Good thing I have 10 months to go.

This is on my list. Gotta lets the smoke clear from a recent spending spree for an IM, but I hope to sign up for this HIM in the next two weeks or so.

I hope to get more bike miles in leading into Timberman next year. 56 miles is still my longest ride ever. I also hope to be 10 pounds lighter for it next year. (tough to rationalize buying a nice bike or wheels when you are carrying an extra 10-15 pounds around.)

I'm in. Going to bring the family and stay for a week in a condo in Laconia.

If anyone wants dtls on condo lodging and some places w availability, PM me.

WOOT WOOT!
