24 Hours of Booty
so disappointed after reading this title. but still a very cool race congrats on a sick accomplishment.

I did my third 24 hour cycling event this weekend.
Recently competing in a 12hr event, I can now speak with credibility that the over-nighters (24- or 48hr guys) are crazy. That's just another level. Do you know how hard it is just to stay away for 24 hours?
So you did 250 mi --- 100 2.5 mi loops - yikes.
Well done!
I hate how you keep doing things that make me go, hmmmm, that might be pretty cool to try.
Your the man!!

I loved your race report...especially "They...crawl into little corners of their mind and don't come out."
So spot on...
24 hour and longer events are like a sliding board to the 7th circle of hell...
Adirondack 540 next year...anyone interested?

Enjoyed the report. You are a BAMF! There is no doubt about it. An inspiration as well.

Awesome to read. Makes me want to lose that next part of my mind...
Congrats on doing the event. I was inolved in the inaugural event supporting the founder.
For those who dont know. The 24 Hours of Booty originated in Charlotte by "Specer Leuders". he did it one year to just say he could do it. The reason it is called 24 hours of booty is the location. In charlotte there is a popular running/riding loop that is about 3-4 miles and is pretty protected by traffic. On any given day there is all types of spectacular scenery running or riding around this loop, hence the name the Booty loop. With the loop actually going around a college helps in the numbers of booty being present at one time.

Now that may inspire me to go for 24hrs ;)
The staff mennber I mentioned in my blog was Spencer Leuders. We rode together for awhile about 5 on Sunday Morning...he made me fell like a million bucks at a time when I was struggling.
I hate fundraising but next year I may do the event again just because I'd really like to do it in dry conditions! It might be a nice way for the trifuel community to give back...a team where we all ride the 24...or as much of it as we can.

Really really interested. What are the details?

Love all the reports from you and sooner about your ultra cycling.
I am interested in ultra running but after reading your blogs and reports i'm getting more and more interested in ultra cycling.
Great job Anton!

Great Job, Anton! I HATE riding in the rain. I am an absolute WIMP, doing 250 mi in the COLD, RAIN! OMG! Happily, I have found something crazy that does NOT sound appealing to me, but very cool for you :) I have done 17 laps of a 3 mi loop once, and heaven help me when I train for IM, I will do many more, but that is some serious mental stamina! Well Done!

www.adkultracycling.com Choose your poison. the 540 is 1, 2,3 or 4 laps of the IMLP course plus a "jog" over to Ticondiroga.(sp) They have a "practice" lap in summer for a dry run, as well as a spiffy 12 and 24 hour race...

I did my third 24 hour cycling event this weekend. While this one not a race, I'm posting here because it is a great way to get a toe wet in Ultracycling as well as raise money for a great cause.
This event has it all. GREAT support, Good Food, Free Camping, Snacks ,fluids, a CLOSED COURSE with top shelf police coverage and good schwag. It's a fund raiser but $150 bucks gets you in. You can go solo or set up a relay team. Proceeds go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Ulman Cancer Fund as well as local cancer charities. It has TWO locations In Charlotte and Columbia, MD..I was told by a staff member that next year they will be branching out to Atlanta and Dallas.
The weather was nasty, I didn't go the full 24 hours, and now my bike squeaks like it's full of mice...
Report on the Blog.
