I wasn't actually part of this study

http://www.everymantri.com/everyman_triathlon/2009/09/athletes-urged-to-...

see, it's a good idea for SO many reasons
...I clearly don't know how to link stuff into here, I would greatly appreciate if someone would fix it for me :) It's a good read

thanks!

WOO HOO!! for Tapering! ;-)

So would sex be considered performance enhancing since it increases your testosterone levels? If so what is the optimum regimen? Daily, steady use, or should your stack up certain days?

Just lookin to maximize performance :)

hmmm.interesting question.
I think this is a good reason to experiment with it and find out what works for you :)

I think you might throw off the curve, and possibly dehydrate your hubby! ;-)

Get a room, you two.

An interviewer asked the Yankees' coach Yogi Berra, if he thought having sex the night before a big game was detrimental, he said,
"Having sex before a game isn't detrimental to a player's performance, but staying out all night looking for it, is!"

Going back several years, Edwin Moses hinted that he had had sex before winning his Olympic gold medal - [i]30 minutes before!"[/i]

Jtrimom, You could try this link to make your links shorter... its a quick and easy way to do it.
http://tinyurl.com/

BB code explanation is available below the "Post new comment" box below.
Look for "URL"

In summary,
type square brackets, [ and ], around the link, inserting "URL=" in front of the address but inside the bracket.

Then type the Name of the link, eg. "Great Site here"

Then close the link with square brackets around the tag: [/URL]

Then go taper with your mate. heh.

PoC
couldn't help myself :)

thanks for the hints guys, I will have to try that next time :)
I'm talking about the URL thing, in case there was any confusion ;)

"...and even suggesting "going solo" if no partners were available."

I think this is a case of different strokes for different folks!

When training, there are days when you just have to go it alone. But it's always more fun "training" with a partner :)

I think we need to do a study. Control with no "performance boosting" activities, Weekly, and daily groups. So who wants to be in the control group? ;)

it's all part of a healthy periodized training plan...although you'll have to decide if you're a long and slow or a high intensity low volume type

It's the post that just keeps givin'

With this "training supplement" you should be able to tell who's doing a sprint vs an IM. The IM entrant will look like smilingbob.

Hmmm, what about group rides? They'll definitely improve handling skills. Just don't go out too hard early, because they may not wait for you later.

"Ironman Triathletes Do It All Day"

"Life is a marathon, not a sprint"

"Save water, taper with a partner."

Ok, if there's not a Trifuel Tshirt with "Taper Naked" on it pretty soon I'm gonna be disappointed!

In true triathlete fashion it should be written on your calf with a sharpie! ;-)

I do believe that is a dare, so apparently as someone with the XY chromosome I have to take it.

Now do I have to be naked or just have 'Taper Naked' written on my calf in sharpie?

If my parents don't come to my race in October, I'll take the dare too...it would just be too much to explain to my dad why that is written on my body

damn, and here I've been knitting all these years

Cast on 15 sts. knit one, purl two
Knit across.
Row 2 : K 1, K 2 tog, K across row.
Row 3: K 1, P 2 tog, P across to last st, P 1.
Rows 4, 5, 6, & 7: Repeat rows 2 & 3. ( 9 sts)
Row 8: Cast on 2 sts at beg of row, then K 1, K 2 tog, K across row.
Row 9: Cast on 2 sts at beg of row, then K 1, P 2 tog, P across to last st, K 1.

Ok, I usually think of myself as being somewhat intelligent but looking at this is like looking at some form of computer scripting......

Anyone?.........Buller?..........Anyone?

I think it's code for how to knit a sweater with,
"Taper Naked!"
in the pattern.

or just a suggestion in answer to the krazyfranco's question of
"Trifuel's Top Twenty Taper-Time Techniques"

Boring, cayman, boring..

..unless you knit naked?

PoC

always knit naked, is there any other way. the size of the knitting needles can be a hazard though when you drop a stitch.

I put the study to the test last night before the IM. Worked like a charm.
