Hey everyone! I'm going to be traveling overseas during the X-mas season. I'll be going to SE Asia. Last time I went there, I had jet lag for 5 days. I was just wondering what kind of remedies you all have for jet lag?

I travel from Europe to US a lot. First. Fly non-stop. Then I set my watch to whatever time zone I am flying to as soon as I get on the plane. 30 minutes before bedtime in that time zone I take 2 50mg Benadryl’s. (They help me sleep and do not seem to give that groggy feeling when you wake up. OTC sleeping pills leave me very disoriented.) Set your alarm for whatever time you normally wake up. Jet Lag free. That is what works for me.

Running magazine a few years back suggested that a 30 minute run shortly after arrival before sleeping, would help align the body's clock.

Exercise helps everything, you know that.

Skip the drugs.

I'm pro-drug...I fly to the middle-east from north-america several times a year, and it's the best option I've found for myself. The first night in the new location take a couple otc sleeping pills and make sure you get a nice solid nights sleep on the new time-zone's schedule. A little groggy the next day, but after that I'm quickly on the new schedule. Also make sure to get an aisle seat on the plane and drink tons of water...like getting up every 45 minutes to bug the stewards/esses to fill up your water bottle.
