I saw what looks like a great deal for this one piece at around $80 down from $175. Anyone have any experience with these? Do they last a while? Fit well?

I was wanting a decent suit for next year.

Thanks in advance.

Im not sure if Zoot makes anything that isnt of quality. If its a new suit and someones just trying to dump it then it sounds like a good deal to me.

The thing about one pieces that you need to keep in mind is:

1. Fit. Don't buy it online unless you try it on somewhere first.
2. Material. Some of the "fast" suits are not ideal for long races in hot weather.
3. Function. Look for things like pockets, placement of zippers, etc.

I tested a bunch of tri suits for the New York Times last year and have a closet full so I know the lowdown.

What distance do you plan to use the suit for?

Realistically, I'll only be doing Olys and Sprints for a while.

Ah, then these suits are great. When you start getting into longer distances the issue becomes more difficult. What size are you?

Walter, what gets more difficult? I bought a zoot this year and I am moving from Oly up to HIM next season. What do I need to know?

What I was trying to say was that as the distance of the event increases, some of these one-piece suits become less practical. My comment was not specifically aimed at the Zoot suits. For example, LG makes a suit that is excellent for sprint/Oly distance but would be less than optimal for a hot 70.3.

Right now, a medium (32/33 waist and 40 chest) I don't really suppose my sizing will change much for next year which was why I considered buying one on the cheap now.
