Congrats! I've been fortunate enough to have 3 of those if you count AG, but none if you're looking at overall standings. :( Keep chasing the dream. However, on your second race? That's amazing! Keep on rockin' it!
Congrats TonisTri! Not sure I'll ever see a podium in my future, maybe if no one else shows up! Finally got off my butt today, went for a 10k run with a few sprints for fun. Looking foward to the return of the sun tomorrow and a nice bike ride.
Rode the Santa Ana River Bed Trail from Yorba Linda to Huntington Beach. Totaled about 35 miles when all was said and done. My longest ride to date, felt great.

Great Job everyone!
Today I managed to do the Back and Legs workout from P90x - I am on week one.
Slacked on back only doing the first round, but full round of legs (they're dying).
Haven't done it yet but I set up transition and got body marked at 1st 70.3. In my car to get out of the rain for a little while but now it's time to wait in line for the bathrooms. Can't wait to write this RR, woot woot!
i dont know what today will bring to me, but thats just fine.
17 minute PR in an OLY hybrid (.6 swim, 38M bike, 10K)
Took the swim and bike to the next level for me.
1st AG and 5th Overall in my IM tuneup race.
The cooler weather rocks.

Thx. Aren't you one of those BAMFs that does the long trainer rides on rollers? I couldn't do that... I'd fall or end up half way through the TV, lol.
Wow! First time I've been called a BAMF! Thanks!
Yeah...I can ride the rollers for a long time...Maybe I'll do that instead of the trainer...thanks for the idea!
I was watching a movie once while on the rollers and there was some chase scene where you had a camera view of the bad guy ahead...He went around a mountain curve...and I went off the rollers across the basement and into the wall!

Anton, you are a BAMF with your crazy trail runs and the 24h on the trainer with your wife reading to you! Toni!! That is awesome!! Way to go!! Man, everyone had a great day!
I ran 15k with a buddy yesterday who's training for Vegas. This was my first long run for a month as I get ready for Cape to Cabot half marathon. Today is hill repeats!
I love these kind of posts!
More recovery for me today. Ran 24 miles on Friday preparing for my first marathon in a month. Ok, it was more like: ran 21.5 miles, limped 2.5 miles. My legs were not happy and continue to be sore. I'm using Galloway's training plan from his 1984 book. Not sure the plan still makes sense - not enough mileage from my POV. Hoping to do something today, maybe an easy ride with my kid on the tagalong.
ran 16 mi
spun easy 70 min.
You are racking up some crazy milage lately. Have you picked an IM yet?
That which does not kill me makes me faster...
Congrats on the great result, Toni!
I "raced" the Komen Race for the Cure 5k... Its not actually a race since they don't keep track of results, but its for a good cause and I'm not in any kind of shape to really race anything. I also got there pretty late and started way in the back. I finished in about 26min (an embarrassing 7min off my xc 5k pr 2 years ago) but the weather was a perfect 50 degrees and I had fun. Altitude and hills are new to me, but I'll figure it out.

I have a HIM at the end of Oct.
a marathon in January
and I am signing up for IMAZ in Nov :)

Wow, great to see all the activity: races, bikin' and long runs. I always wondered what everyone did with their weekends.
Congrats Toni and gfd on fantastic finishes.
22 mile soggy run for me yesterday, 6 of it thru the woods. A little nicer today, a cool, sunny 24 mile bike this morning and just back in from a 6 mile run.
Great job y'all!
yes, Longhorn, I replied to your questions on the events page...and I believe we have had a couple of mentions of it before now.
I rode 50 mi in the rain on thurs...how do you keep the rain out of your eyes? Britt says she uses motorcycle goggles...any other suggestions. I don't mind getting soaked, I just can't see for s%$t when rain is pelting my eyes.

Great work everyone...a lot of these make me feel like I took it easy this weekend.
Yesterday did 2 hrs on the bike (~40miles).
Today did a sprint tri to get some threshold work in before I start into my 70.3 taper mid-week. Finished 24th OA w/ 5min PR, but only 12th in my AG. Lesson learned: 20-24 AG will probably be stacked if you race a tri held on a college campus. Young whipper-snappers...at least I age up for next year, although that will hurt me at every race except this one.
finished my half iron in 5:14. Official times- swim- 30:25, bike - 2:52, run - 1:49. RR to follow, still floating on the fact that I finished haha

Semper Tri you kicked butt. Congratulations.
4.5 hour bike ride today.

Since this post was for Saturday:
IL CAT4 state road race champs. 25 mi warm-up ride to race start. 40 mi race. Jumped with .75 miles to go at the base of a 3-step climb to the finish. Got out to an 80m lead with 1/2 mile, but went way too hard and was passed at the top of the 2nd rise, with 1/4 mile to go at 10%. Lost about 25-30 places in 5 seconds, then gained back about 10 or so to the finish watching the finishing sprint 100m up the road. Hmm... probably went a bit early, or way too hard up the first part...
Then 25 mile ride back home. 90 miles right at 4 hours.
Congrats to all you racers :)
I had a great weekend on the bike -- Saturday a 58 mile ride (18 mi "casual" pace for the boys which means I have to work a bit, 20 mi FAST for them which means I usually am dropped in about 3 miles, and then 20 miles "casual" and a bit climby back to home -- which also often means I get dropped). But this time, I managed to hang on for 12+ miles and over 30 minutes of the 20 miles fast!! It was awesome... I have made it one other time, but that day was valentine's day and I had 6 or 7 boys giving me pushes and gaps and guidance... this time it was more what I could do really as part of the pack and no favors. I kept gaps from forming, even went around some gaps and got back on, and generally killed myself. Then blew up completely, which was the goal :)
Today was about 36 miles with Mike and Rich, who I could almost never stay with before. This time I was there the whole time (except 2 sprint points where they dropped me) and it didn't even feel like death. Good times!!

Today: a 30-minute walk, but this weekend...
Saturday a 22-mile trail run entirely in the rain, and Sunday a very hilly 53-mile bike ride with a good soaking rain shower.
I deserved a recovery day after that, right???

I did a 10k on Saturday. Set a pr of 41:25. Finished 11/215 overall. Won my age group (men 35-39) for the first time ever. Then went to my restaurant job, where I spent almost 11 hours on my feet (at least I got a half hour break) but at least got to watch Michigan beat Notre Dame. Sunday, however, I took a 2-mile plus walk with my wife and baby along the beach. Not a bad weekend.
Way to go, Semper Tri!

..
I spent 14 hours this w/e down in a trench in the hot sun putting in 900' of 2" water line.
If I hadn't done all that swimmin', bikin' and runnin' this summer I would have lasted only about 6 hours.
Since IM is over until next year I am catching up on chores.
Way to go Toni!

I swam for a whopping 30 min. Ok, not swam, pulled. No kicking allowed until my 6 weeks is up---5 more week. It was slow but felt great to actually do something again!

I was going to ride 195 min but had to change plans because heavy rain. The weather called for dry skies but it rain instead, go figure. So put running gear and logged 14 miles in 1:51:21. This is the time I aiming for at BK next month. Get home drenched.
