how to tell what kind of campag cassette i have?
I've never seen a model designation on any of my campy stuff but if it's a 10spd cassette and you have a digital scale this will get you close.
Record 10 = 188 grams
Chorus 10 = 220 grams
Centaur 10 = 233 grams
Veloce 10 = 250 grams
Record will have the 3 biggest rings made of titanium and a magnet will not attract. (Or if its uber slick will be all ti and it's likey you'd know it if it was)
Chorus will be all steel
Centaur & Veloce will be all steel with a more shiny finish than chorus when new, but finish tends to vary with mileage.
Chances are it's a Chorus or Veloce
I know this isn't a definitive answer but it's the best I could do from my desk.

is there no way to tell via the inside pattern on the inner cog?
It is a very distinctive looking pattern.
