you probably should be able to race, although not at the intensity that you thought you would be at pre-infection. i would ask your md.
stay off the caffeine, I really feel for you, get better quick.
Thanks. It's really frustrating that it had to happen this close. But, it's better than happening next week I guess. Hoping and praying for the best. Thanks again.

Since there is nothing you can do to improve your fitness, and tons you can do to screw it up right now...being laid low can be positive! From personal experience, now that it's being treated, you should be ok by race day...maybe not 100% but passable.
Also...be careful of a resurgence AFTER IMKY...lowered immunity and all that.

Good luck and get your rest and listen to your doctors.
I got my fingers crossed for you! ;-)

I had a mild prostate infection back in March. Doc told me it was likely due to saddle irritation. Don't know, but I switched to an Adamo saddle and have had no issues since.
I think you will be OK and it might even be good for you: think of it as a Super Taper. Rest up, save your energy, and think of all the fitness you have "in the bank" from all your training. That's not going to go away, and you will be able to do your race!
Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery. The good news is you can only lose so much fitness in 2 weeks. Hopefully your body will be fresh. Let us know how things work out.

If one of those meds you are on is an anitbiotic, you might consider a pro biotic before the race, it will help your gut.

Listen to your doc and focus on keeping your mind clear. Don't let the illness affect your mental preparation. Good luck.

Thanks for all of the well-wishes. I actually feel 100x better right now compared to how I felt last weekend, but I'm gonna just keep chillin and drinking water/gatorade. I do know that with the CIPRO I'm taking, I have to be real careful with too much sunlight. Hopefully, it'll be all good. Thanks again.

Went to bed early Friday night with the chills/sweats and a fever. Woke up Friday with the worst flu-like symptoms I've ever felt. Took some meds and slept all day. Woke up Saturday with severe low back pain, chilss, etc. Went to the minor med and neg flu test. Turns out it's Prostatitis. 15 days out from IMKY and I've got an infected prostate. Started CIPRO and Ibuprofen and instantly feel better but I'm really concerned about whether or not I'm gonna get to race. Any thoughts?
