I am looking to get some feedback from some of the experts on this site to get an idea of how close/far off I appear to be while in Aero. Although my original intention was to get a tri-related fit shortly after adding the clip ons, I deferred because I found the position quite comfortable and incredibly efficient. My average speed over 40k has an increased an average of 2mph (although that could be from the additional bike time.)

I'm still open to a fit if I a missing something that only a fit can give me, ergo, I am reaching out to this knowledgeable and ever opinionated community of trifuel for some more definitive advice.

Thank you!

I'm not a fit expert, and I don't play one on the internet.

When I bought aero bars I paid for a fit from someone that had a fancy certification. He didn't charge me the full price because there wasn't much he could do. My bars were as low as they would go, and my seat was as high as my legs would allow. No matter how good they are at fitting, there's only so much that can be done to get in a tri position on a road/touring bike.

Also as TryScott wrote, I'm not Serotta/FIST certified, but it looks good to me. Granted, I'm not the one riding it, but you say it feels good. If so and you're getting results, don't go jackin' with it.

If you are going 2mph faster, that's a good indication that the aero bars did their job. The guy that fit me said on average people go 1-2mph after a fitting. None of his customers reported going more than 3mph faster after a fit.

Asking for fit advice on the internet, is the probably the worse thing you can do for your position. You are best staying with what you have if it feels good, until getting a professional fit from a fitter with a very good rep. A good fitter will also do "touch up fits," as you adapt to the fit, some things will change over a year or two. TryScott is right on with what to expect with results.

Thank you for the input gents.

Vistring, I just needed a ball park opinion to hold me over until I pull the trigger and get the fit. There is some damn good experience on this site.
