This was a beautiful and fun course. I couldn't have picked a better place for my first attempt at the HIM distance(Barb's). I'm not quite as fast as Kylie, but I finished in 6:16:53 with a big 41 year old smile on my face(it was also my birthday;)
The swim was nice. Very clean and good temp. A little contact at the beginning, but eased up as we spread out.
Bike course was rolly w/some nice climbs thrown in for honesty;) The scenery was priceless. The roads in Michigan are WAY more bumpy, so that didn't bother me very much. Volunteers rocked!
Run was also a little hilly and sunny, but not too bad. It was nice to not run in the midwest humidity for a change.
I will be back for this race!! Both Guerneville and Windsor are wonderful towns w/great food and places to go/stay. Volunteers and organization are top notch, good expo too. A great race for a 1st time HIM or any veteran.

I always go to Sonoma county for wine testing and fairs, it is a nice community and thay have great restaurants. The weather was perfect wasn't it? What a way to celebrate your birthday, Happy Birthday and congratulations on your first HIM.

I read Kylie did awesome. Can't wait to read trifuelers's comments. Vineman is my first and only full distance and I have great memories. Like coming out of the water in 1:20, I thought I was going to use the hole 2 hours!! I hope all had a great race today!
