IMLP 2009!
I love the whale! Way to stick it to the Gremlins by going through the finishline!
GREAT Race Report!
Love the Whale and the job well done - great to see the perseverance through adversity.
Like our short conversation at the aid station as you were heading into the finish line, a few words summing up a long day:
J: "How ya' doin'?"
A: "Not great, but that's Ironman."
J: "That's what it is."
If it were easy, it wouldn't be Ironman. Congrats on a great race.
Pleasure meeting you.
Getting to the finish line with your attitude is not just Ironman, it is amazing.

Congratulations Anton! Your attitude sets a great example!
Solid. Way to get it done, Anton.
awesome man! congrats
Way to go! Great report!
Hey Anton, what a great race report! I love the whale! I think you've started a tradition--I'm gonna have a squeaky toy on my bike at Ironman 2010!
I read a bit more of your blog and admire your honesty and courage. The entry about why you have an Ironman tattoo is great--that's what Ironman is really about--not about bragging, but about changing your life and following your true path. Congratulations.

Anton, that was fun!
Also love the whale, are you going to change your nick to Orca now? :D

"smile, squeak the whale and keep moving forward" great mantra! :)
But I'm not sure about asking others if they want to squeak it ;) You might get a Sharon with a whole different interpretation!

Well done!
As you know better than most, Anton, there are days when the racing gods smile on you and push you along and days when you have to fight everything they throw at you to earn your finish.
Way to earn it.
endurance is all about keeping on keeping on...otherwise you're not actually enduring
very inspirational anton
i'm sure your students would be proud
Way to kick ass.
It was great to be out there supporting you and the other couple of thousand competitors.
Awesome job!!

Great race. As always your commentary is honest and refreshing. The whale is great, its a reminder not to take race day too seriously, after all its suppose to be fun.

Incredible Anton. I love your attitude. I love the whale. And I am inspired by your stories. Thanks for lending your wisdom and experience to Tirfuel so often. I hope you get to do IM again without the gremlins, but I also know that wouldn't stop you.
That which does not kill me makes me faster...
So instead of a schon rockli, you used a squeeky whale to get your kicks ;) I have thought about putting tassles on my handle bars...whatever works, right?
Your attitude is second to none. CONGRATS on another IM finish!!!

very inspirational to this newbie. amazing accomplishment(s) both on and off the course. glad you made it back "here" and can share your journey with us.

Why? Many people have asked me... to test my limits ... and to push beyond them.
Congrats Anton. You have such an amazing attitude. Way to triumph over gremlins and hot lava.
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
Love your race reports!
From your blog:
On the bike I saw 6 folks with flat tires. It was obvious that some of them had no idea how to fix it. Witnessed 2 bad crashes. And 3 folks who were DQ'd although I can only find one on the record. Saw a number of folks pinged (penalized) for drafting but not sure how many....I saw at least 5 in the penalty tents.
Yeesh, what's wrong with people? :P Any idea what the DQ's were for? I'd imagine you'd have to do something fairly egregious to earn that!

Great race report and congrats on another IM! The whale is fantastic!!
