Who's ready for Full Vineman/Barb's?!!

I will be flying in from Michigan on Thur. for my first attempt at the half iron distance at Barb's on Sat. Who else is in? Good luck to everyone racing! Be safe and have fun!!

I'll be there!!! Whether or not I am ready will play out on the course...but I hope so! We'll be arriving Friday, mid-day. Crossing my fingers for mild weather.

Safe travels!

I will be there too! Hey, I am from Michigan. Are you from northern MI? Just guessing from your username.

Good luck! Let's finish with smiles on our faces!!

kpollock,
I am in Grand Rapids, but went to Ohio State + Columbus native= "Buck up North" :)

Good luck to you too. Are you in the full?
Cheers!!

I'll be there doing Barb's, and my husband doing the full! At registration I'll try to remember to wear my Trifuel visor (and I might for the race as well) and perhaps even my Trifuel red tank top :) Say hi if you see me! :)

And I guess I'm as ready as I will be... it should be a blast! I love the course.

I am in the full. My roommate from MSU was from GR! She would always remind me...it's the 2nd largest city in Michigan. I'm from suburban Detroit. Not sure I should mention this, I graduated from UM...you won't drown me in the river will you? That's my weakest discipline!

I am so bad at swimming, there is no way I could ever catch you! Being a Buck up North, I have learned tolerance and can take many a joke:) I'll make sure to wear my OSU gear so you can find me;) I'll look for Kylie in her Trifuel wear, too!!

I'll be there for the Full. First time at that distance. Cheers all! Have a great race everyone.

Hey Buckupnorth...how about wearing a "Beat Michigan" pin like I did at Cal 70.3? ;-)

Good luck! It's about time you kick but at a half! Cheering for you. You'll do GREAT!

You just might catch me, I am not a great swimmer!! I only look forward to it because it's the only way I can get to the bike:)

Once we have our race numbers we should post them! I'll be cheering after I'm done :) Although my husband gets almost a 2 hr head start!! I can't let him catch me ;)

Good luck and Go Bucks!

We are staying at the "host hotel", so I planned on watching the full Vineman finishers, too. I will post my # as soon as I get it! I will be wearing my OSU hat and I am obviously a woman, since I'm doing Barb's race;) And like TryScott said Go Bucks!! I'll try to do us proud, but don't count on a win;)!!
I am not opposed to having new UM friends, Kpollock!!
Thanks for all of the well wishes and support Trifuelers!
Again, good luck to everyone racing.

Eeeee... we are basically packed! Thought we had a couple backups for places to stay, but both fell through so we'll be having a bit of a drive (around 1.5 hours) on race morning. Mike starts at 6:30 and I'm at 8:15 and it will be fun to get to cheer so many people in and build my racehappy before I start :)

Wow I am jealous............ Go go go, Race reports after the event ?
Best of luck to you all.

Duh to the race reports! :)

Oh, and new this year, online tracking for the event!! So now you can play along at home!

I'm #1331
Mike is #50

Our shoes are in transition, and we are having dinner and then setting up our bikes :)

I am 1522. Shoes are in place and dinner has been eaten:) Went for a short swim in the lovely Russian River and drove the bike course. Can you say HILLS! Yikes, Michigan seems flat!! This is a beautiful place, so I will take it all in tomorrow!

See ya tomorrow Trifuelers!

Good luck guys and gals! Thinking of you and cheering you on today!

should be starting soon right? Best of luck will follow on line :-)

Just remember... smiling makes it hurt less! That's what I kept telling myself. Seems like it worked ok. 20+ min PR for me! Mostly improved swim and run times, although I guess that does mean my bike fitness has improved. The swim was full contact to start, the bike bumpy but pretty, and the run I just remember it hurt ;) End result was 5th in AG and 17th overall and a 5:33!

And I had a song stuck in my head for the run "you... change your mind... like a girl... changes clothes...." and mostly the chorus to that "you're hot then you're cold... you're yes then you're no... you're in then you're out... you're up then you're down". I don't even know the song, but it is on the radio a lot here right now.

Now bed! Full race report soon -- travel day again tomorrow.

Oh, and Mike had a tough day coming off some misplaced training (starting a new business) and a run injury, but had a very strong mental day and brought it home in 6th overall, 4th in AG at 10:06. I'm a proud wife!

SEE? I told you that you would be AWESOME!!! Way to go, Kylie!

As for Mike, I dream of the day that I consider a "bad day" coming in 6th overall. :-)

Missed being there yesterday but sent you good vibes all day long.

Wow, well done! he did a full in 10:06 and it was a bad day? YIkes.

Way to go girl! I checked on the tracking at like 3pm eastern time, but it was jammed up. I was wondering how it finished. Awesome!

Great job to you and Mike!
