wetsuit dilemma

Hi all,

When I did the Bay 4.4 Mi Swim last year I had my Blue Seventy Helix John let out professionally. I was injured at the time and put on some weight. I have lost the weight since.
Even when I was in shape before, that suit was too tight across my chest, and I couldn't fit my arms into a full suit. As is now, it holds water though arm holes, when I swim. We are talking a difference of 30 lbs right now, but in another month or so it could be 35lbs.

So do I send the suit back and get taken in? Or should I get another suit? I doubt I would buy another blue seventy unless the fit was really good. I definitely would want a better fit. I have short legs and a long torso, and was wondering what brand fits that body type the best? I am 5'5".

Any suggestions?

cut the arms off the suit. j/k, I really wish I had better advice. I didn't even know you could alter wetsuits. If so, I guess your only options are to replace, alter, rent, or go without.

Good thing triathletes don't have time to spend money at the bars every night or pay for green fees every weekend. Tough to do triathlons on a budget.
