No, not for a race.

Right now I'm going to shave my legs for the first time in my life.

Hmmm. I look very, very pale. Apparently not much sunlight got through the leg hair over the past 34 years.

It will feel even better when you get into bed tonite! I recommend a loofa scrub down on your legs after your done shaving, it will help with ingrown hairs the first few times.

Use hair conditioner. SO much better than soap or shaving cream.

I know some UR's, men, who can run 100 at the drop of a hat...whose weekly milage would kill me. Have a neighbor, back from his THIRD tour in the 'Stan... Used to hang out with a former RAAM rider...
They all have one thing in common. Pedicures. If your feet are worthless, you're worthless and pedicures help keep your feet and nails on an even keel. John Vonhof in "Fixing Your Feet" calls it the perfect way to maintain foot health.
If you ride enough, both road and trails...clean legs make it easier to prevent infection from road rash and cuts and dings that occur when things bounce off the road... The hair also catches on the pavement and rips out more skin than if you had had clean legs...If you've ever debrided your own wound....YIKES! Clean legs are much better.

That's actually what motivated me. I was entered in a tri this weekend where I was assigned the dead last wave, and I knew from past experience that the bike course was going to be very crowded, lots of first-time racers, turns, etc. Just a little insurance policy.

No pics yet, but maybe I'll update this thread (or that other famous thread) once I have some.

Oh, and Britt, Mrs. PJT was fully on board with this scheme, offering tips, etc. Though it's possible that she really just wanted to see how I'd react to razor burn. ;)
