Nothing serious here. Not like injuries, cheating, etc. Just small annoying stuff.

Things I hate.

10. Leaky water bottles, yeah I use bike water bottles for runs and swimming and they leak all over the place, put a gasket in the top, or make ones with tighter treads, something.

9. my wrench force pump, does it really need to rip valve stems off the tube, twice per month.

8. valve stem extenders, why can't those 90 dollar tires just come with long valve stems? I'll pay an extra 10 just to have them. The english language really needs more curse words when fiddling with them.

7. goggles, why don't they last more than one season, and really does it have to say "lady" on the packaging, why not XS, it is bad enough I shave my legs...

6. why is my body glide stick always empty, I only use it for races, yet every race I have 3 near empty containers in my transition pack. This is a mystery to me.

5. off days, recovery days, off season

4. pool swims in a race

3. people who critique my bike fit. I never asked and you, and you have no knowledge of my flexibility, power output at different setups, and medical history. Leave my spacers and seat height alone. Go play with yours.

2. shirtless guy with 6 pack abs in a race, (this will removed if I ever join the ranks, and replaced with training laundry)

1. being a triathlete, it is like bug spray for girls and relationships

Things I love.
10. the few roadies who get all bent out of shape when I pass them on 650 wheels shirtless or with a sleeveless jersey. I only do this because I like your reaction.

9. having the speed camera take my picture for speeding on the bike, I wish they would mail to me, so I could have it on file for the record.

8. post race unplanned exhaustion nap,

7. the feel of carbon rims with tubular tires, after training on clinchers with alu rims for months. This is a great feeling.

6. transitions, I am actually good at this part

5. people who don't return a nod when cycling. You are cool because
a) you realized I have tubulars and would be no help if you flatted.
b) you realized I have 650s and would be no help help if you flatted.
c) you realized I left my saddle wedge at home and wouldn't be much help to anybody and much less myself if I flatted.

Regardless of your reasoning, I appreciate your keen sense of observation.

4. that post hard workout feeling, where you want to shower, eat, sleep, stretch, and review your data all at the same time. I didn't know my body was capable of feeling so much at once.

3. the fact my bike with worth more than my car, in fact my wheels are worth more than my car. Not that either are worth that much

2. any gizmo that spits back numbers, heart rate, cadence, watts, miles, hours. Its so dorky, I love it! Put it on graph, even better.

1. being a triathlete, 1 sport just isn't enough for me.

I'd love to hear other people's pet peeves with the sport.

Awesome topic. Points 4 & 2 under things I love are things I can relate to. Nothing better than reviewing workout data against past workouts of a similar type.

I definately fall in the "race as an excuse to workout" camp as opposed to the other way around.

I enjoyed your list. Well written. You nailed the body glide. After the 2nd time using it it seems to be just about finished and I don't use that much.
The post-hard-workout feeling keeps me coming back for more.

I would love to know the city that does! Sounds like a good way to keep my mailman employed!

My bikes worth more than my van! I'd care more about my bike if i got in an accident than my van which simply acts as a taxi to my bike

I might put a license plate on my bike if I ever find one of these with a camera. I've only seen them with a radar gun. Still, it's a lot of motivation to see the number on the big sign.

Yea, my bike is worth more than my car too, I love it. Catnaps are price less!

I hate my rest day. I realize I need my rest day, but I hate it nonetheless. I feel like crap and more tired than on the days I have hard workouts.

Tris are my antidepressant. When the day gets stressful nothing like a 50 mile bike ride to clear your moods...though I come home to the same crabby husband....

I love the high, mellow feeling after a long run/ride. I just drive home with a big goofy smile on my face and all I want to do when I get there is eat and sleep...even tho I get 4 kids and chores to do.
