Hi all

I'm looking for a wee bit of advice. I've signed up for a sprint Triathlon in 2 months time.

750 meters swimming (not going to be a problem, I'm like a fish in water)

11 km bike ride (might pose a problem as I've not been on my bike for 1 month)

5 km run (this is the problem - I suck at running, I really do)

Would it be possible for me to train myself up to this tri in 2 months? My basefitness up untill 4-5 weeks ago was ok, I completed a sprint in decent time despite injury.

Any advice on nutrion (as I need to loose a few pounds would be great too). How many calories a day roughly would be good?

I can / used to pull double training sessions which I really enjoy and can take a fair beating when it comes to training so I don't need to hold back as such.

Any advice would much appriciated.

Christina

check the generic training plans here at trifuel and
http://www.trinewbies.com/tno_trainingprograms/10wtp.pdf

generically to lose weight you want a deficiet of 500 calories per day sites like fitday.com can tell you the # of calories you take in and #of calories you burn in exercise to help you out. at least that is what worked for me

are you recovered from your injury?

The only thing to be aware of when focusing on a Calorie deficit to lose weight when training for Tri is that you need to make sure you are suffeiciently nurrished for your training sessions. Long rides/runs this is especially crucial for. I've never used fitday but the BMI calculator I used in the past provides an estimate based on days/week your exercise. Its a good rough estimate, but tri training in my experience is much more intense than normal peoples exercise programs so the number of calories you are given will be low.

Just my .02.
