lubricate a valve?
Try it, but you may as well just change tubes. I always weigh 'worse case scenarios' and it seems when you are talking about a $5 tube it would be worth just chunking the broken valve to ensure you get in your training rides, races without a potential problem.
+1. Chuck the tube.

I hardly ever see YOUR mind in the gutter, Britt; now tri-ac and Beads, though, are regulars :)

do your worst/best
roll down and stick em in the box at the bottom :)
I could probably come up with something with "head gasket" too, if I knew what that was :)

pumping a sticky valve forcefully is not likely to end happily for anyone involved...using lubrication is definitely advised in these "sticky" situations :)
and no, I wouldn't use chain lube

kinda doesn't matter...as long as it's tongue in cheek ;)
if you're forcefully pumping your valve into a head gasket, it is bound to get sticky before the job is done.
(It was a very long 50 mi bike ride this morning- I have lots of time to think :)

the valve on my tire tube is sticking enough that it's overcoming the force of the pump and the pump-head gasket is failing to keep the air in
is it sensible to try to lubricate the valve on the tube?
if so, what do i use? will chain lube work?
thanks up front!
