I just read that if you compete in this years HIM in Rhode Island you can register the day after for IMLP, good news for all of us that were trying to figure out how to get in and someting for others to think about for next year.

So after Rhode Island 70.3 on July 12, you can sign up more than two weeks early for Ironman Lake Placid 2010? Where did you read this? I'm glad you have the opportunity and encourage you to take it, but I think selectively allowing some groups to sign up early is a crock of sh*t.

+1 to the Crock......

Personally, in fairness to everyone, registration should be available to all as a first come first server basis with specific slots reserved for the Pros (It is their job). The rest should be on a token system. Log in, click register, and have 15 minutes to complete your registration before the token expires.

Not everyone can afford to attend the races two years running. Once to volunteer and once to race. That is 366 days of planning and a big chunk out or the wallett.

It's was in the athlete guide, I'm thinking it's to entice people to sign-up since it's not a sold out race. They're also giving out 50 slots to this years race after the WC roll down.

"All 2009 Amica Ironman 70.3 Rhode Island participants will have the opportunity to register on-site for the 2010 Ford Ironman Lake Placid on Sunday, July 12 at Station Park from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m."
