Bunny Hoping Bridge Joints?
Unless I'm in my aero bars, or don't have the time, I generally bunny hop any of the above. I did bunny hop once in my AB and although I landed it, I don't recommend it.
if you're going to slam into a corner that will bear the full brunt of your weight/inertia (like that far side of a pothole), lighten up the load on your wheels by pulling up as you roll over it
full-on bunny hop is not really necessary for the bridge joint unless it's totally out of plane with the other side
either way, appropriate tire pressure is what's going to limit your pinch flats
I can barely stand while riding, I think bunny hopping is way out of my league :)
I do lift my butt when I hit big bumps tho, that seems to lighten the load (not that my butt's that big)

to answer your question
i ride through them mostly (esp on the fixie)
if i start cringing when i see the obstacle, then i consider the hop
Where I live we have a lot of rail road crossings. Some are well maintained and others are not. As for the "not" I usually jut slow down and take my time crossing them but there is one set that runs diagonal across the road, those I bunny hop.
Bunny hop all the time on my roadie..... If I didn't I'd be hitting tons of potholes every ride. I've never had a pinch flat, but I'm also really good about maintaining tire pressure, pump em up before every ride.
As cjhoffmn said, don't try this in your Aerobars. Your weight distribution is way different, so not such a good idea. Maybe practice a bit first, if you really feel the need :)

So I was wondering something on my ride last night:
The bridges around here have metal-saw tooth type joints, and generally I have been doing a quick bunny hop over them to avoid the "bump" and possible nasty edges. I'm fairly new to road-biking and was wondering if bunny hoping on road wheels is a good idea or not? What do you guys do, bunny hop nasty obstacles or clinch yer teeth and hammer through em?
