Forgive me if this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything by using the search.
With this really hot weather I am sweating (such an inadequate description) a lot. I of course wear sunscreen which says it's sweat proof. Anyway, the concoction is getting in my eyes and it stings. I have had this problem when not wearing sunscreen too. I wear a headsweats dew rag that just isn't sufficient. I'm thinking about carrying a hanky during my upcoming Oly so I will be certain to see the finish line.
Any suggestions?

dunno if this will work for
dunno if this will work for you, but a bit of lip balm or body glide above your eyebrows directly the flow of sweat away from your eyes (swooping out and down) apparently helps. I just wear a hat or visor anyway to help with sunstroke and headaches, but have buddies that do the lip balm trick. It's impermeable (right word?) or hydrophobic (better word?) so the sweat follows it's path. Course it may end up in your eyes too...
Might want to try a mesh
Might want to try a mesh running hat too, cools while you run somewhat. Sweat is absorbed up into the mesh and trapped by the sweatband before it gets to your eyes. A wrist sweatband can also be used to mop up excessive sweat on really hot days.
I would have thought ditch
I would have thought ditch the cream and use just the sweat band, see if it makes a difference, and drink plenty
I wear a headsweats hat
I wear a headsweats hat while running and skull cap while biking. You could try to wear the dew rag lower on your forehead, mine is usually less than an inch above my eyebrows. Also, I wear sunglasses that touch my eyebrows and I frequently have sweat running down the inside of the lenses. It's sort of annoying to see but at least it's not in my eyes.
I would go with the wrist
I would go with the wrist band. Profile makes a cool one.
If you're sunning yourself
If you're sunning yourself at the beach, sure, wear sunscreen. But don't for the race. Your not out in the sun that long for an Oly. As to the sweat, I use a headsweats visor. Hats are just too hot for me. Works just fine..skully on the bike...and like overcome says, "Wear 'em low." I do know a guy who carries a wash cloth to wipe his face. I just use my hand.
I found that on the bike if
I found that on the bike if I keep my head up (when I'm working hard I have a bad habit of looking down right infront of my wheel) the sweat won't flow down into my eyes. But when my head is down it always end up in my eyes.
I use a sweat gut'r. It
I use a sweat gut'r. It works well, but they look pretty dorky, so be prepared for your friends to make fun of you.
Glad you asked that...I was
Glad you asked that...I was having that issue- since it's in the 90's here all of a sudden. Good advice from all.

I just picked one up from my LBS. I was tired of not being able to see by the end of my rides. Worked exceptionally well. After 3 hours in the FL heat this morning, only half of one of my sunglass lenses had sweat on it. For the run I use a running visor. Works well enough for me. I learned not to put sunscreen on my head in junior high at a track meet. Lets just say one of my eyes was red and stung like crazy all day. For face sun screen, I use a waxy face stick. That just goes on my cheeks, nose and ears, and doesnt move. The visor provides enough cover for my forehead.
If you sweat really bad,
If you sweat really bad, like me, I wear a Headsweats Visor, and a sweat gut'r under it...
When I start getting drips on my glasses on the run, I take it off, and wring out the sweat gut'r, and shake the visor vigorously. On the ride, just the sweat gut'r and sometimes a skully over that.
Awesome advice. Thanks all.
Awesome advice. Thanks all. Now I just have to decide what order to try things in.
I have a very large, shall we say forehead and I don't want it to be burn. But thinking about it, since I wear the headsweats dew rag my forehead is covered anyway (I wear it touching my eyebrows) and my helmet covers it on the bike. I'm definitely going to ditch the sunscreen above the eyebrows. Then try all those other suggestions.
Thanks again.
A SweatHawg helmet liner
A SweatHawg helmet liner will manage the perspiration and cover the top of your head, no need for sunscreen. Great for the shaved, the bald, and the balding. Hyper-absorbent, ultra-wicking, comfy and stealthy (in the helmet). Works like nothing else, and no ugly dangling stuff out back!
