Question: has there ever been a thread where people just post workouts they do for the benefit of other people looking for suggestions on a workout?

I propose we use a thread to just write down suggestions or previous work outs with whatever information you want to provide!

Hopefully this idea will fly because I think i'm not alone when I find myself a couple of days right before I go out on that run whether i'd rather do intervals or a long shot.
Perhaps specify some details for the work out though--like whether you're training for an IM or sprint.

and if there was already a thread like this, lets start it back up again!!

In the past, we occasionally started WDYDT (What Did You Do Today) threads.

So....WDYDT on Monday, June 22.

28 mile bike ride. 19.8 mph AVG. Feeling good.
7.5 mile run. 58 minutes. AHR=134. Hills were not my friend yesterday morning.
Day 1 of Week 2 of Competitive season IM training plan.

Today was swim day for me. I just started a brand new workout. However, this is week two with the workout and right now I can't complete it in an hour but that is one of the cool things. When I can complete it in an hour I know to change it up. I do modify depending on the time. I might take out 300 free and the 3 x50 or something like that. But this is the routine:
Warm up - 500 easy, 200 kick easy, 100 easy, 6 x 50 with 20 sec rest
400 free drills (could be anything - using paddles for 200, Thumb to thigh for 200, whatever)
300 free – 15" rest,
3 x 50’s free 10" rest
3 x 50’s kick – 10" rest
rest 2 minutes
200 free 10" rest
2 x 50’s swim 10" rest
2 x 50’s kick 10" rest
100 free
1 x 50 swim
1 x 50 kick
300 swim down..........300 yds

Spent too much time looking on Trifuel creating an attack strategy. Does that count?

This is my standard schedule that includes the types of workouts I do. I just added the run-bike-run workout because of how I felt on races recently. This is about 9.5 hours of workouts, and I expect to hit 90% of it. All runs are followed by 1x1:15 planks, which I find to be really helpful.

Monday:
am: open water swim 1 mile
lunch: 5 miles @ 80%
pm: bike PDXroute x3 - this is a hill route equivalent to the Portland Tri in Aug

Tuesday:
am: off
lunch: bike hills x 4 - this is a hill by my work, about 10 minutes up, three down
pm: 9 mile run

Wednesday:
am: open water swim 1 mile
lunch: run speed drills (800 warmup, 2x800, 2x400, 2x200, 2x100, 800 cooldown)
pm: off

Thursday:
am: off
lunch: pool swim (various speed drills, sometimes a 1x2000yds)
pm: R-5k, B-20k, R-5k (hilly run, flat bike)

Friday:
am: off -
lunch: off
pm: MTB for fun or off

Weekend:
- race length brick (no swim, some hills on bike and run)

Wow, these are some intense work outs!! I can't tell whether i'm doing just enough or too little! (training for a HIM --Timberman).

Monday: Easy 5 mi bike hill with a small jog after (rest workout) [very impromptu...don't think its a real workout, but just felt like I needed to get on the bike for a little, came back and went for a run to the supermarket where I bought groceries for the week haha]

Tuesday: 10 mile run

wednesday (today): Bike or Swim work out... will post later

Today was suppose to be a running day but what I thought was a charlie horse last week was a calf strain so I am off of running for the week. So I biked. 45 mintues worth with a series of hills.
