Hello all,

I have been lurking for about a week and it's time to join in and participate.

I will do a better profile in time but I am a 41 year old married mother of a 7 year old son. I work in the home textile industry and live in Brooklyn, NY.

I am training for my first sprint tri in August. Other than the swim team when i was a preteen i have never competed against anyone other than myself and sometimes my husband ;)

I have been a swimmer, runner, cyclist for many many years and now it's time to do something with it all.

My name is really Susan.. but i go by Maggie Means online.

Welcome Susan! This place is a wonderful community, something I realized all the more in my recent quiet, adjusting to new work/life schedule period of absence from these forums.

There's plenty of wonderful information and knowledgeable people - take advantage of it all!

i am training for the Staten Island Aug 30th sprint by NYCtri.org...

hope it's a good pick for my first one...

it's a new tri i think there... so that might be a problem...maybe not as well organized.. who knows... but length, time, etc... seemed like good fits.
