bike upgrade
from all the discussion I usually hear, all of the following:
- tire rolling resistance
- tight fitting clothes
- smart hydration placement
- aerohelmet
...the list goes on.
Most importantly: - aero body positioning (w/ minimal power loss)
I don't know how noticeable each is, but body positioning/clothes selection, tire selection, and aero helmet have all been noticeable to me...I haven't toyed with hydration placement at this point.
+1, but to risk sounding a bit snarky...up-grading your riding strength and bike handling skills will make a huge difference.
Tri heads and TT's will tell you aero is the road to improvement. Roadies will tell you aero if fine but light weight will make the biggest difference. Light weight as in the bike AND you. My experience is, if the bike isn't comfortable to ride, it doesn't matter how aero you get or how light. If the machine is uncomfortable, causing you aches and pains over the long run, you just won't be fast.

excluding race wheels, what kind of upgrades can make a noticable differecne in your bike?
