Calculate pacing for International using Sprint times

In my opinion I dont think you can use a sprint as a guide, depending on how long the swim was from your sprint tris should throw alot of your results. I am substantially faster in my sprint races compared to my olympic distance. The swim is so long it knocks you down hard. Simply as everything is much longer your pace will be altered greatly, thus i think you cant relate a sprint time to a olympic time, different scenario would be comparing your 400m sprint time to your mile time, Its two completely different races.

I will be runing my first International Tri this year and was curious how someof you may approach your pacing for the longer format. A print is fairly easy in that you are basically going pretty much as hard as you cna go in each the swim, bike and run - or as I do I try to progressively get a little faster to finish each strong - to date this has worked pretty well. However how would I approach the International - Shoudl I use Heart Rates or could I also take my Sprint times to help calculate a good pace for me in the longer event. Thanks for any help.
