I am freaking out....i am doing my first olympic tri in 4 weeks. I do NOT think i am ready. What should i be expecting? I have been training...but I don't think I have been working hard enough. Should I back out of the race??
I have bee trying to follow a plan, but i haven't done the full distances of run or bike or the entire times recommended for training. Keeping in mind that i haven't had a road bike for 1 month so i have been doing spin classes and...I was on vacation for 3 weeks (so i wasn't swimming and i ran 2x). I am doing a sprint in two weeks and my oly is in 4 weeks. I think it is a case of not training properly. I decided to do a sprint tri for the first time last summer and i only trained for 4 weeks and i finished in 1:36 (riding a mountain bike and never swimming in open water) so i think i can do something but am i pushing myself to limits that i am not prepared for physically? AHHHH!!!
Can you be more specific?
Can you be more specific? What has your training been like? Have you been following a plan? Is this a case of really not training properly or just nerves before the big event? I'd love to encourage you that you can do this, but I need more info.

I finished a Half at the beginning of May, took 4 weeks off to travel around Spain and catch some of the Giro in Italy, then came home to two weeks of training before an Olympic this weekend.
Approach it with the attitude of being a long training day. Keep your efforts withing yourself and you will finish, and more than likely surprise yourself.
The take home message is "You are as prepared as you think you are", and not doing the recommended times in training doesnt mean you havent trained enough, it just means that you may not do the times you are anticipating.

You know what, we all feel a bit overwhelmed before we take on a new challenge. It sounds like you are second guessing yourself. My first coach once told me you will do better undertrained then overtrained, so go in knowing you are fresh and have lots of energy. You have the fitness to complete it, just stay within your limits and treat it like a long training day. If you back out of it, you will be even harder on yourself IMHO. Just my thoughts! You will see how you feel after the sprint and be better able to guage what you are capable of. Pacing will be important in both though. Good luck and keep us posted!
