Half marathon training and tri training?

So I'm doing my first half marathon in October with a friend. The Runner's World half marathon plan for beginners looks about right for me, so I think I'm set there.

I was just wondering what you guys do when you transition from the end of tri season to running events in the fall? Do you do swim/bike for cross training? Substitute some biking for one run session? Just not worry so much about biking / swimming for a while?

Thanks.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

It really depends on what my goals are for the "off-season" of tri. I will continue to bike when I can until it gets too cold to do so because biking is fun. I will cut back substantially on swimming unless I'm trying to get major improvement there over the winter. I'll add an additional running day during the week, so that puts me running 4-5 days per week. I'll also add in some additional activities like indoor rowing (erg) and lifting weights.

So, in summary...if training for a fall running race, I'll skew my training to be very run-heavy, but usually won't abandon the other activities. However, the training for swim and bike will usually be less structured than in season/early season base

Option C: Just not worry so much about biking/swimming for a while. I hang the bike up and let the suit dry out and focus on faster and farther running. I do the Fall 5k and 10k road race series, then a half and full marathon in Winter. By then, I'm burned out on running (possibly up to 1,000 miles in Fall in Winter) and when Spring arrives I am ready to get back on the bike and train for late Summer tris. Coming off of Winter marathons it only takes me maybe 250 miles on the bike to be back near 100%.
